Planning guide · Casper, WY
What should you have ready before requesting a crane quote?
Have the job address, what you are lifting with its weight and size, how high and how far from the crane setup spot it must go, the number of picks, your preferred dates, and notes on site access, ground conditions and overhead power lines. Photos or drawings help most. With those details an operator can size the crane and quote without guessing.
Casper Crane Connect is an independent referral service, not a crane company. We pass your request to local operators, who quote and perform the work themselves.
Request a QuoteThe checklist
- Location: street address or, for rural and oilfield sites, nearest roads, lease name or GPS pin.
- What is being lifted: item type, weight of the heaviest piece (from a spec sheet, submittal or bill of lading), and its dimensions.
- Number of picks: one unit, a set of trusses, a load of steel, or several items on the same site.
- Reach and height: distance from where the crane can set up to where the load lands, and the height (roof, wall or platform).
- Setup area: parking lot, street, alley, gravel pad or dirt, and how much open space there is for outriggers.
- Ground conditions: recent excavation, backfill, septic tanks, vaults or buried lines near the setup spot.
- Overhead hazards: power lines, trees, canopies or other structures in the swing path.
- Access route: gates, width, steep grades, cattle guards, low wires and weight-limited bridges or culverts.
- Dates and flexibility: target date, backup dates and whether early-morning or weekend work is possible.
- Who is on site: whether your crew will rig, land and secure the load, or whether you need riggers from the crane provider.
- Photos: the setup spot, the landing spot and the item. Mention in the form that you have photos and the operator can ask for them.
Nice to have
- Site plan or drawings showing distances
- Any permits already approved, or whether the crane must set up in a street (see permits and lift plans)
- Any lift plan or safety requirements from your general contractor or facility

Common questions
What if I do not know the weight?
Give your best estimate and what the item is, with a model number if there is one. The operator can help pin it down, but the weight must be confirmed before the lift.
Can I send photos?
The form does not take uploads. Mention that you have photos, and the operator who contacts you can tell you how to send them.
How long does it take to get a quote?
It depends on the operator's schedule and the job's complexity, so we cannot promise a response time. Complete details usually speed it up.
